Hebridean Chocolates wins the Scotland's New Social Enterprise of the Year Award
Hebridean Chocolates has won a prestigious award as Scotland's New Social Enterprise of the Year.
The award was presented by Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary of Finance, John Swinney, at a ceremony at
PricewaterhouseCoopers Glasgow offices on 24 February. Hebridean Chocolates will now go forward to a UK final.
Anne Sobey, Third Sector Hebrides Social Business Development Manager, said
“This award is dedicated to all our participants in Hebridean Chocolates, who
will be delighted at having their achievements recognised.” Alasdair Nicholson,
Chief Executive of Third Sector Hebrides, which set up Hebridean Chocolates,
said “This demonstrates yet again that the Hebrides can produce the best quality
produce, as well as showing that social enterprises have a real part to play in
transforming the lives of real people. This is an achievement for all the hard
work and effort of Anne and her team at Hebridean Chocolates.”
The award for Hebridean Chocolates follows on the success of one of Third Sector Hebrides'
other enterprises, Am Pàipear, being awarded Community Newspaper of the Year for a second consecutive year
recently.
