MINIBUS HIRE

ABOUT THE VOLUNTARY ACTION LEWIS MINIBUS

• The minibus has a 15-seat capacity and is wheelchair accessible.

WHO CAN HIRE THE MINIBUS?

• Any group can hire the bus but all drivers must hold a current MiDAS Certificate.

MAKING A BOOKING

• Telephone or call in at Voluntary Action Lewis. The contact details are at the bottom of the page. You will be asked for the group name, contact telephone number and the dates on which you wish to hire the bus. We will also ask you about special requirements ie if you need us to remove seats to enable wheelchair access.
• You can also book a Minibus through the booking page of this website.
• You will then be sent a letter confirming your booking details.

• If this is your first time driving our bus, you will be taken on a short drive to familiarise yourself with the bus.
• The Minibus Log (see Minibus Driver’s Pack) must be read before commencement of the hire of the vehicle, all relevant forms must be completed and all hire regulations detailed in the Driver’s Pack must be strictly adhered to. The Transport Coordinator will go through the forms you are required to complete with you. The Minibus Driver’s Pack is located in the front of the Minibus.

AFTER THE HIRE

• On completion of the hire, the Voluntary Action Lewis vehicle must be returned to Voluntary Action Lewis premises and any diesel fuel used must be replaced. If you fail to do so, the cost will be added to your invoice. You will also be invoiced for repairing any damage or excessive cleaning costs.

CANCELLING THE BOOKING

• Wherever possible 5 working days should be given for any cancellations otherwise a fee of 50% of the total hire charge will be levied.

VAL MEMBERS

• Full Day—£28.20
• Half Day - £18.80

NON MEMBERS

• Full Day—£35.25
• Half Day - £23.50
• The hourly charge is £5.87
• Hire of Driver (any time period) - £25.00
• Hire of Escort (any time period) - £25.00
• All prices include VAT
